The Tea Party Movement MUST push back liberal media bias!

YouTube plugin error

Welcome to the Tea Party Media Watch wiki. This is an open source, collaborative project of the Official Nationwide Tax Day Tea Party.

The purpose of this wiki is to track media outlets who have been contacted about the tax revolts, and who either failed to report the news or portrayed the event through an inaccurate manner. We will also track media outlets who arrive on the scene of a tax revolt, but fail to report the news.

On the other hand, we want to be sure to thank media outlets who use accurate journalism standards in reporting the news related to the Tea Party Tax Revolts.

Remember, the Tea Party Movement has tens of thousands of every day Americans coming out into the streets to protest out of control government. This is happening across the entire country, and on April 15th it will take place in more than 120 cities. In what universe is this not news?

On April 16th, 2009, we will evaluate the reports here and determine on whether or not a media outlet sponsor boycott should take place.

We need your help! Please edit this page to include YOUR local media outlets

  • Identify local media outlets and find contact information
  • Login and edit this page to include your local media outlets and related contact information
  • Link to coverage
  • Include bias reports (include sources of media bias as well if they exist)
  • Optional - Send digital pictures to teapartyPics@gmail.com. They will be distributed to national media outlets. Please be selective in what you send.

I can't believe it!!! I was watching Good Morning America this morning and they actually mentioned the National Tea Party!! well, for about 30 seconds but it's a start! Right after that, they had a report of people taking bus tours of AIG ex. houses and leaving them notes about their bonuses. I'd LOVE to do that!! LOL

Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank want us to fixate on the AIG Bonuses.

Congress GAVE the money to AIG.

Stay focused on the damage Congress and the President are doing. Forget AIG.

How absurd! Give Tim Geithner the power to seize huge financial firms like AIG, etc? Are you kidding? This guy is a "lunatic"!! I am truly amazed at how "incompetent" the current "Mouseketeers" are in Washington, not to mention greedy, selfish, and self-absorbed. I really don't think Americans are going to stand for this much longer! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!

Power hungry they are, but please Donna, don't call them selfish. They don't deserve the compliment. Remember we have made selfishness a virtue now. Read the book.

I think that this problem all stems from our Congressman and Senators under the direction of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid! We should all demand that they get paid performance bonuses and give their last raises back. All of this anger of AIG is misdirected, it should be leveled at Washington DC. Who was it that said not more than three years ago that Fannie and Freddie was in good shape? Barney Frank, Chris Dodd , Chcuk Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid should be impeached! Put these incompetent people in the same retirement and hearlth funds and see how quick Soccial Security gets fixed!

Not the place but I don't kinow what else to do with this idea. I do cartoons for fun but am no charactureist. Here's the idea I dreamed. Barack and Michelle standing atop a pedestal. On a level below them are Harry, Nancy, and Barney. Below them are the terrified huddled masses reaching up to them. Barack et al have slices of cake in their hand and Michelle says "let them eat cake" while Barack is saying "perhaps this will stimulate them".
Sorry if this is inappropriate here.

I visited the Macon Telegraph checking for news about the Georgia Tea Parties but found only one story and of course the title was, "I won't be attending this Tea Party!" where the writer explained how the Tea Party is an idea from the right wing of the GOP. Anyhow the long and the short of it all is that there is only ONE story in Macon and that's it.

I belong to this organization as well as my local one. I hold people individually responsible for their conduct in keeping with our Constitution. I do not blame one person. I have never and would never use my childs credit. I hold my government for the decisions they make. I vote. The Bilderberg Group, the Tri-Laterial Commission, the Federal Reserve......OMGosh.....I NEVER knew the Federal Reserve was NOT a part of the government, but a PRIVATE BANK! Scary stuff!

I will be trying to compile fairly reliable crowd estimates nationwide, with links to media coverage as well as published videos, photos, and blog postings which document the Tax Day Tea Party protests. Assistance welcome to report such links and crowd estimates at www.SurgeUSA.org and links to such coverage are welcome. Help spread the word! Given the 600+ events, it will take time to track down everything, so your help and patience is appreciated. Thanks to the many thousands of volunteeers nationwide who have taken the initiative to make this unique protest a reality. I am not an official sponsor or organizer - just trying to help out voluntarily, like so many other individual Americans.

I am a service member stationed overseas and i just heard of this tea party thing from my father a couple of days ago and i have to say that i am so unbelievably happy that the silent majority has finally started to use their freedom of speech and not be so silent anymore. I just whatched a video clip from the COMMUNIST NEWS NETWORK (CNN) about Fox News coverage and backing of the Tea Parties. In my opinion i would rather hear about the Tea Parties than Mrs. Obama's wardrobe, what the Obama kids wore on their first day of school, what dog they got, and Mrs. Obama's vegetable garden. PEOPLE THAT IS NOT NEWS!!!! We are engaged in 2 wars, we have an economic crisis on our hands and we have corrupt politicians giving handouts to business that squandered all the money they made in the first place. So again for all of my fellow PATRIOTS out there i thank you for standing up and letting your voice be heard. I may not be able to participate in the tea parties because of my location and career but I am a PROUD AMERICAN and have a smile on my face because of all the people that are standing up fpr what they believe.

Thank you!!!

The Kane County Illinois coordinators have already started looking into this. I also saw this suggested on Michelle Malkin's site (sorry, don't remember where or who posted), that we protest on May 1st in front of the main stream media outlets. That would include local newspapers along with the local tv broadcast studios in the larger towns. I know in Chicago, two of the larger ones have glass fronted studios, all you have to do is stand in front of the windows with signs.

Been checking out sites, here is an idea I found on Michelle Malkin's site. Please think about asking your groups to flood the EEOC and CNN with e-mails. Blogger Carol says she sent this. This is where sheer numbers would make sure this does not go unpunished.

"Mr. Johnson: You certainly must be aware that Mr. Cooper’s obscene sexual reference constitutes the creation of a sexually hostile environment, in violation of Civil Rights Act prohibition against discrimination based on sex and EEOC guidelines prohibiting this conduct in the work place."

I attended the Tax Day Tea Party in downtown Tampa today Wednesday. It was a fabulous event; filled with humor, respect for the individual, civility and comity.

There was no central organization running the event. There was not a lone leader speaking for the movement. It was the epitome of a grassroots campaign.

There was love of country and concern for her future. There was a mother bear-like protection of her cubs defense of liberty. There was unanimous displeasure with the federal government’s over spending, over reaching, over micromanaging of every aspect of society, and over the top arrogance and disdain.

Partisanship and divisiveness did not emanate from those who attended the rallies. The partisanship and divisiveness is coming from those in the press and the blogosphere who are trying to smear and discredit the Tea Party movement.

There are two goals of this citizen bubble-uprising and, in my opinion, neither one can happen without the other:

1. Influence the government
2. Challenge the false, misleading, propagandizing press coverage
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is an idea I have to help #2 succeed. Please let me know what you think.

Why have a bank? Vote with your feet. Walk out.

If you're like me you don't hold onto money long enough to warrant keeping a bank account with the liability of bouncing checks when it nears bottom. So don't have one. Use money orders. Why direct deposit all your cash into some crooks' bank? It's your money. Put in in your wallet, or your safe. By the time I pay my bills all I have left is spending cash for food anyway.

If you must have a bank account, just put enough in to cover the bills you must pay by check or your bank card. Why bother going to a money machine every time you need your own cash? Why pay all the associated fees? Banks have a great racket. They hold all your money, fee you when ever they feel like it, post your checks when ever they feel like, and share all your transactions with any government agency or lawyer who comes down the pike.

We have the power to stop banks in their tracks. Vote with your feet. Walk out of your bank.

It's been suggested that credit unions are a great alternative to banks. I don't think people should blindly follow any one strategy or part of the industry. One credit union may be good. Another may be bad. Generally they sound good, but they all still charge the same interest and fees as banks.

Why should people be responsible for propping up an economy based on credit, which profits the bankers, including credit unions? People should learn to live within their means, not on credit. This is the root of the problem. This is what the Japanese discovered when they went through this. They now live more within their means.

The further contraction of the economy without banks that some fear is merely a contraction of credit. People still have the ability to make a living and profit. In fact, without the incredible interest they now pay, up to around 30% on a typical credit card for example, they will have more money and the 'no bank, no credit' strategy will improve their cash position.
